Tickets on sale for A Midwinter Nights Dream

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s show, A Midwinter Nights Dream.

We are trying something new this year. Instead of a story developed from songs we like, we have decided to do: “A Midwinter Night’s Dream” – the musical. Based on Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, we are placing the show at Mardi Gras in New Orleans in the present day. It will take place both in N.O. with the Rex Krewe and in the swamps and bayous of Louisiana. Since it is loosely based on Shakespeare’s funniest play, there are many roles and complications. A fun time will be had by all. We will be needing a Mardi Gras King and Queen, a King and Queen of the Swamp people, some bewitched couples, a group of ne’er do well actors, some lost children, a magical trickster (named Puck of course!), several Krewes (it is Mardi Gras after all), and, of course, Amos Moses among many others.

This hilarious and musical comedy is Magic Moments at its finest. You won’t want to miss this fun romp in and around the bayou. We expect this year’s show to sell out. Get your tickets today before they’re gone.

Purchase your tickets online now at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?ticketing=mmi. This year’s performances will be on:

  • Thursday, March 21 at 7:00pm
  • Friday March 22 at 7:00pm
  • Saturday March 23 at 1:30pm
  • Saturday March 23 at 7:00pm
  • Sunday March 24 at 1:30pm

We will be performing this year at Chatfield Senior High School, 7227 S Simmst St, Littleton, CO 80127.

Magic Moments always needs volunteers both on and off the stage. You can sign up to help online now. Here are some of the opportunities we are currently recruiting for:

  • General Writers – we are looking for volunteers with strong writing skills to help us write emails, press releases, blog posts, show blurbs, etc.
  • School Outreach Coordinators – our school outreach coordinators are responsible for liaising with area schools to promote auditions and tickets to students at schools in the Denver metro area.
  • Website Managers – we need one or two volunteers with strong web/technology skills to help us keep our website up to date and fresh
  • Workshops- securing venue and instructors, creating flyer, work with marketing to advertise, send mass emails, planning and execution, set up, clean up, SN Coordinator, etc.
  • General Help- Someone to pick things up during the day from printers, storage…someone that has a flexible schedule
  • Corporate Solicitation- help sending emails out to businesses for gift cards, sponsorships, donations, etc.
  • Social Committee- planning and helping execute Annual Dinner, Cast Party, and other events, as well as workers at events. Magic Moments runs various events throughout the year, and we always need folks who are willing to roll up their sleeves and help staff tables, serve food, setup and clean up spaces, sell concessions, etc.

And, of course, our annual production is always in need of volunteers backstage including folks to help us with:

Thanks and Awe

One of the things Magic Moments inspires in me is consistent feelings of awe over what people can accomplish. I’m awed over the incredible talent exhibited by our cast members year after year. I’m awed by the strength of spirit our actors show in their refusal to be held back by their disabilities, their limitations, and their experiences. I’m awed by the incredible amount of love and care our community shows to each other at all times in so many amazing, wonderful ways.

Yesterday I found a new reason to feel the kind of awe only Magic Moments inspires. This time that awe was inspired by each and every one of you who contributed to support us during this year’s Colorado Gives campaign. Because of your passion and commitment, we were able to make this the best Colorado Gives Day we’ve ever had

And this wasn’t just the best Colorado Gives Day we’ve ever had by a couple of dollars. It wasn’t even the best Colorado Gives Day we’ve ever had by a couple hundred dollars. Yesterday was the best Colorado Gives Day we’ve ever had by several THOUSAND more dollars than we have raised in any other year.

I. Am. In. Awe.

But then, I should be used to that by now with Magic Moments.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us during this year’s Colorado Gives Fundraiser. We literally would not be here without the financial support of our community members. It means so much to me and to everyone on the board to feel this level of love and passion from all of you.

You all are the beating heart that makes Magic Moments special. It is a privilege to get to be part of this community with you.

With awe and love and many thanks,

Cat Scheer
President of the Board
