Call for Board Members

The Magic Moments Board of Directors is losing several valuable members after many years of service and dedication to the board running the business side of the organization. We need a full board to be an effective board so we are asking for volunteers. If you would like to join a family that is committed to focusing on the abilities of all people, please consider attending our next meeting on May 9 at Waterstone Community Church.

Qualifications: Board members must be able to assist with fundraising and marketing efforts, seek out funding opportunities, read and approve budgets and show a duty of care to the organization. A readiness to learn and protect the mission and values of the members and the production as well as good communication skills are a must. Board members must be proficient using a computer and like media, as the majority of communication is driven via cloud based applications. Previous board experience and a background in business are huge pluses. Board is separate from the production and theater experience, although helpful, is not a requirement.

Commitment: Must be able to commit to attend one board meeting per month as well as work on a committee with projects outside meetings. Must be available during rehearsals and show week in March to stay in touch with the members and assist with committee duties. We are a working board and no set financial commitment is required, but support in the way of attendance and sponsorship is needed.

Apply for the 2018 Special Needs Theatre Arts Scholarship program

Applications are now open for this years Theater Arts Scholarship program. To apply you need to have at least one year of experience with Magic Moments within the last two years and a desire to obtain further growth in Theater & Performing Arts through lessons or instruction.

Recipients will be chosen by the Magic Moments Special Needs Theater Arts Scholarship Committee. Applications must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 and the maximum award is $500.00.

Sweet Nothings

Do you know a Magic Moments actor who does amazing work? Is there anyone in this year’s show whom you personally want to send some love to? Want to just tell the whole cast to break a leg?

For only $10 each, a Sweet Nothing is a personalized note, included in our program, that tells your friends and family how much you support them. Sweet Nothings can be purchased in person at any Sunday rehearsal, or online at https://app.arts-people.com/index.php?donation=mmi.

To complete your Sweet Nothings purchase you also need to fill out your message(s), we will have copies of the form at the sales desk, your can print out the form ahead of time and bring it with you or the form can also be printed and scanned and emailed to sweetnothings.magicmoments@gmail.com.

The deadline for Sweet Nothings submittal and payments is the 4th March. This is also the day of the full cast costume parade and rehearsal, 1:00 to 4:30 p.m and you will be able to buy your Sweet Nothings at the sales table then too,

100% of the money raised from the sale of Sweet Nothings goes into our Special Needs Theatre Arts Scholarship, providing opportunities for people with special needs to study the performing arts. Additionally, Magic Moments matches, dollar for dollar, all the money raised towards this program, doubling your donation to this great cause.

In the Same Boat

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s show, In The Same Boat.  Sail away with the Magic Moments crew in a nautical adventure set on an ocean liner trapped in the Bermuda Triangle. Missing captains, suspicious passengers, and mysterious happenings abound as the Officers, Crew, and all on board work to find their way back home. This year’s performances will be on:

Colorado Gives Day 2017

Magic Moments is pleased to announce that Colorado Gives Day is coming up on December 5!

We also want to thank you for your generous support during Colorado Gives Day 2016. Because of your support, MM received enough funding from last year to purchase 30 much-needed microphones. After years of scrounging around for working microphones, we had the equipment we needed to ensure a smoother, more professional musical production in 2017.

For 35 years, Magic Moments has been welcoming people of all ages and abilities to the cast and crew of our annual musical production. We work with our actors with special needs and crew members to make sure they’re ready and confident as they take the stage. Our goal this year is to raise funds to replace outdated rehearsal and production equipment – laptops, sound system, and wireless microphones.

Registration for 2018 Show

Registration for the 2018 Show “In the Same Boat” is happening on December 9th at Waterstone Community Church between 11am and 1pm.  If you want to be in the show you must register!

Rehearsals for the show will start January 7 2018 and performances are March 22-25, 2018.
