Auditions now open for the 2019 show!

Sign up today to audition for Magic Moments 36th annual production, Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, this year’s MM production, follows a person who has lost his/her will to dream. This may be due to the Parent, education, current society, dead-end job, many factors. This one is a “serious” show, like when we did “The Child”. There is , of course, some humor thrown in for good measure. The ending will be unusual but “Magic Moments-y”. This year’s production features songs from “The Greatest Showman”, “Sing”, “Miss Saigon”, and “Rent” to name but a few. Also included are songs by Pink Floyd, Imagine Dragons, Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, Florence +The Machine, and Disturbed’s – “Sound of Silence”. The roles include a Dreamer, a Mentor, the Parent, the Child Dreamer, an epic Dancer, a mouthy Waitress, a disgruntled Patron, the four Dreamers: Fame, Fortune, Love, and Peace, and many others. There will be some big, intricate, dances this year as well.

Auditions are on Saturday, November 3 for adults and teens, and on Sunday, November 4 for kids and take place at Waterstone Community Church – 5890 S Alkire St Littleton, CO 80127. Rehearsals begin Sunday, January 6 2019 and performances are March 21 to 24, 2019.

Registration is Open for our annual Audition Workshops

Workshop Instructors

Heading up our instructors this year are Roberta Hamilton-Griggs and Hannah Rose.

Roberta has been performing in and directing musicals, plays commercials and operas for over 25 years. Her favorite productions include directing “Seussical, the Musical”‘ , and singing Viola in theopera, “twelfth Night” by David Amram. SHe has been teaching at St. Mary’s Academy since 2004 and s so proud of her students, past and present!

Hannah Rose- Not only is Hannah a Magic Moments alum, she is a former student of Roberta’s. She has worked as a choreographer for St Mary’s Academy for 13 years. Some of her favorite shows include Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast and Honk! She is very excited to participate as an instructor for the Magic Moments Audition Workshops!

Back by Popular demand are the Colorado- based improv group, “Rodents of Unusual Size”! Our own Magic Moments alum, Erin Barrette is a “rodent”!

Golf Fundraiser on Sept 29th 2018 at Kennedy Golf Course

Magic Moments is pleased to announce that we will be running another golf fundraiser on Saturday September 29th 2018.

The fundraiser will take place at the Kennedy Golf Course with an 8AM shotgun start.

Check in for the event begins at 7am and we will be running in a 4 person team scramble format.

If you can’t make your own team of four please let us know when you sign up so we can group you together with other small groups.

The cost is $100 per person and includes golf, carts, lunch, and prizes

Now that we’ve all survived being lost in the Bermuda Triangle, it’s time to reunite with your shipmates and supporters while enjoying a Caribbean buffet featuring jerk chicken, baked mac and cheese, and other delightful island fare.

Your evening will include:

  • Presentation of the 2018 Sweet Nothing Scholarship recipients
  • Recognition of our first annual Erin Bradford Golden Shoe Award winner
  • In the Same Boat DVD for your viewing pleasure, and available for pick-up by those who have purchased

Call for Board Members

The Magic Moments Board of Directors is losing several valuable members after many years of service and dedication to the board running the business side of the organization. We need a full board to be an effective board so we are asking for volunteers. If you would like to join a family that is committed to focusing on the abilities of all people, please consider attending our next meeting on May 9 at Waterstone Community Church.

Qualifications: Board members must be able to assist with fundraising and marketing efforts, seek out funding opportunities, read and approve budgets and show a duty of care to the organization. A readiness to learn and protect the mission and values of the members and the production as well as good communication skills are a must. Board members must be proficient using a computer and like media, as the majority of communication is driven via cloud based applications. Previous board experience and a background in business are huge pluses. Board is separate from the production and theater experience, although helpful, is not a requirement.

Commitment: Must be able to commit to attend one board meeting per month as well as work on a committee with projects outside meetings. Must be available during rehearsals and show week in March to stay in touch with the members and assist with committee duties. We are a working board and no set financial commitment is required, but support in the way of attendance and sponsorship is needed.

Apply for the 2018 Special Needs Theatre Arts Scholarship program

Applications are now open for this years Theater Arts Scholarship program. To apply you need to have at least one year of experience with Magic Moments within the last two years and a desire to obtain further growth in Theater & Performing Arts through lessons or instruction.

Recipients will be chosen by the Magic Moments Special Needs Theater Arts Scholarship Committee. Applications must be completed and submitted by Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 and the maximum award is $500.00.
