Want a step up on auditions? Brand new to theatre? Make plans now to attend our workshop! Whether you’re new to theatre or you’ve done several shows, this workshop will offer pointers and tips that will help you nail that next audition AND be more familiar with the stage around you.  Here’s what we have in store for you!:

Magic Moments’ Audition and Theatre Basics Workshop

  • Theatre Basics – Laurilea McDaniel
  • The Audition:
    • Picking the Right Song for You AND the Audition – Laura High
    • Surviving the Dance Audition – Jen GaNun
    • A View from the Judge’s Table and Callbacks – Laurilea McDaniel

This is an information and action-packed workshop that will have you on stage learning and trying new things.  Partners will be available.  Don’t be surprised if some of your favorite Magic Moments performers show up in special cameo performances during the workshop.  Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to get in on a great special deal on head shots – just in time for Magic Moments 2016 auditions, November 7th.  More information to come.

Space is limited.  Cost is $20.  You must be at least 13 years old to attend.

Dates have been set for auditions, registration, rehearsals, and the show itself for our 2016 show. Check it out and mark it on your calendars!

Saturday, November 7, 2015  ages 13+ – 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Sunday, November 8, 2015  kids – 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

REGISTRATION:

Saturday, December 12, 2015
9:00 am – 11:00 am for people who auditioned in November
11:00 am – 1:00 pm for people who want to group audition

FIRST REHEARSAL:

Sunday, January 17, 2016

SHOW DATES:

Thursday, March 31, 20167:30 pm
Friday, April 1, 20167:30 pm
Saturday, April 2, 2016 – matinee 2:00 pm & evening 7:30 pm

“Simply Magical” Will Air July 29th

Tune into Rocky Mountain PBS, Channel 12, on July 29th at 9pm. Tell your friends, set your DVR, and  enjoy! The more people that view the first airing the better chance of it running again!

Simply Magical: Tearing Down Walls is a documentary about Magic Moments, created by Darla Rae. Featuring interviews with the cast and crew of Magic Moments both past and present. The film will make its TV debut next month.

2015 Scholarship Winners

Scholarship funds are provided to any special needs cast member who is interested in furthering their education in music, dance, voice, acting or any aspect of theatre arts they choose. The funds for these scholarships come from the Sweet Nothings purchased by cast and crew during the production of “A Dark and Stormy Night.”

Magic Moments Honored with the 2015 Shift Award

On Friday, Magic Moments was one of three honorees at the 10th annual Circles of Change Awards luncheon hosted by Building Bridges at the Seawell Ballroom in the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

By celebrating others’ accomplishments each year, Building Bridges hopes to demonstrate that positive change by individuals can be expanded into much greater circles of change. The other honorees were Nichole Flores, n instructor of theology at St. Anselm College; and Harold Fields, a nationally renounced facilitator for creating dialogue centered on race in America.
